IBSTH
Inductive Bible Study Treasure Hunt
Our Mission
IBSTH (Inductive Bible Study Treasure Hunt) is a non-profit organization devoted to education, research, and outreach for the inductive Bible study method. We build and freely share trustworthy tools so that anyone can engage Scripture directly — before turning to outside commentary.
What Is Inductive Bible Study?
Inductive Bible Study follows the flow of Observe → Interpret → Apply, drawing meaning from the text itself. The discipline is to let the text speak for itself instead of laying a system over it.
Learn more →What We Do

We translate the method into hands-on tools: step-by-step guides, chapter-level study flows, and workbook-style worksheets. Anyone can walk the same path of observation, interpretation, and application.

We have built and curated, in-house: an OIA analysis dataset for all 1,189 chapters; 7,432 verse-level commentaries integrated from eight public-domain sources; 2,358 entries on historical, cultural, geographical, customary, and theological background; and 8,520 Bible-dictionary entries — all freely available to learners.

We ship mobile and web tools in Korean, English, and Spanish, and license eight Bible translations (NIV, ESV, KJV, NASB, NLT, 개역개정, 새번역, 바른성경) under non-commercial terms so anyone can read and study Scripture without friction.
Bible Text Licensing & How We're Funded
Bible-text licenses are held by IBSTH as a non-profit, under non-commercial terms — the text itself is, and always will be, free to every user. Operations are sustained by donations, which fund infrastructure, content research, and ongoing translation work.
Licensing & AI Policy
Bible-text licenses (NIV, ESV, 개역개정, and others) are held by IBSTH under non-commercial terms — the text is, and always will be, free for every user. AI features do not generate Bible text; they are assistants that evaluate and compare user-authored study work. AI output is fact-checked against eight cited Public Domain Data sources (Matthew Henry, Calvin, Barnes, and others). Subscription fees fund the Azure OpenAI infrastructure operated by LC Lab, Inc., and are not paid to license holders.
About these maps
- Geographic fact
We start from 1,342 biblical locations with coordinates, names, and scripture references. Place names and locations are factual data — they cannot be copyrighted.
- AI cartography
LC Lab renders the visual style — colors, typography, composition — as original cartographic expression. This is illustration work, separate from any analysis of Bible text.
- Cross-verification
We cross-check coordinates and place names against reputable open Bible-map resources to ensure positional accuracy.

The references above are comparison targets for accuracy verification only; these maps are not distributed under those sources' licenses.
